Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 26, 2026
The Sky Bringup, LLC operates PlateWise and this website. This policy explains what is processed when you use the app, request AI estimates, purchase snaps, or contact us.
Your diary stays on your phone
Saved meals, confirmed components, meal thumbnails, personal defaults, your daily comfort line, and reminder settings are stored locally. PlateWise does not synchronize the saved diary to our servers. Your phone may include app data in its normal backups; manage those backups through your operating-system settings.
What an AI estimate sends
When you request an estimate, the app sends a reduced copy of your meal photo, your optional note, language information, and a device or account session to The Sky Bringup AI service. A re-estimate can include edited component names and portions. The submitted information is processed to identify food components, return calorie ranges and general food tips, apply credit limits, and recover an interrupted request.
Only submit content you own or have permission to use. Avoid including faces, documents, location details, or other personal information that is not needed for the meal estimate.
Device, account and purchase information
- Service identity: A pseudonymous device-linked identifier and session support your starter allowance, credit balance, service limits, abuse prevention and purchase reconciliation. It is not the same as your Apple ID or Google Play account.
- Linked accounts: Where you choose an available sign-in or account-linking option, we process the account email, identifier and authentication details needed to maintain that account. Anonymous device use is available for the initial meal flow.
- Purchases: Product identifiers, store transaction references or purchase tokens, subscription status, and verification results are processed to provide purchased snaps and Premium. Apple or Google processes payment; we do not receive your card or bank details.
- App interactions: First-party usage events such as app opening, estimate actions and paywall actions, together with app and session information, help us measure operation and reliability. These event records are separate from the saved diary.
- Technical records: Request timestamps, IP address, user agent, app version, request status, model and provider, token usage, credit usage, latency and error details may be recorded. Upstream error messages can contain information supplied by a provider; we do not promise that every diagnostic is free of submitted content.
- Support: If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send.
AI providers and other services
Our service sends the content needed for your request to OpenRouter and the selected model provider. The current model configuration uses Google's Gemini through OpenRouter. Their processing and retention are governed by their applicable terms and policies. PlateWise does not promise zero retention or that every provider excludes all model-training use. Read the OpenRouter Privacy Policy and Google Privacy Policy.
Apple and Google provide app distribution, payment and subscription management. Cloudflare provides website delivery and may process technical request data for that purpose. Service providers may process data outside your country. We do not sell your meal content or use it for cross-company advertising tracking.
How long records are retained
The service stores a request hash and the full AI response in a replay record to recover requests and avoid duplicate charging. Replay records have a 24-hour logical validity period. Expired records are removed through request-triggered cleanup, so expiry is not a guarantee of physical deletion at exactly 24 hours. The replay record is not a stored copy of the submitted original image.
Operational logs, account and credit records, support correspondence, and purchase reconciliation records are retained as needed to operate, secure, support and meet legal obligations. We do not claim that submitted content disappears from every service or provider immediately after a result returns. Third-party retention follows the applicable provider policies.
Permissions and your choices
Camera and photo-library access are used when you choose to take or select a meal photo. Optional notifications support meal reminders; you can disable them in the app or phone settings. You can use manual meal entry without an AI request, remove a meal, or clear this phone's diary in Me. Requests are sent over HTTPS. Access controls and transport encryption help protect data, but no system offers absolute security.
Access and deletion
Open Me → Delete account to request deletion of the active service account and associated records. The app also clears its local diary when the service accepts the request. See Account Deletion for the steps and the email alternative.
Account deletion covers associated AI replay records and AI/API logs under our control. Limited purchase, refund, legal, security, and deletion-audit records may be retained where necessary. To prevent repeated claims of the starter allowance, the service retains a site-specific cryptographic device marker and a record that the free allowance has been exhausted; that anti-abuse marker has no automatic expiry. This is separate from your deleted meal diary. Deletion does not cancel a store subscription.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal data, or complain to a competent privacy authority. Email [email protected]. We may need limited information to find your records and verify the request.
Adults only
PlateWise is intended for adults aged 18 and over and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect children's personal data. Contact us if you believe a child has submitted data. Meal estimates and tips are not medical advice.
